The concept of layers
In this new episode, I identify the four stages of progression: novice, beginner, emergent, and mastery. I emphasize the need for a clear pathway for development beyond certification and highlight the importance of structured workshops.
I introduce the concept of layers in Pilates exercises, using the series of five as an example. I explain how layering works by gradually increasing the challenge through strength, range of motion, and control. I also mention my plan to explore layering in the Matwork repertoire in future episodes.
